MC2

We encourage and promote safe sport rocketry in Middle Tennessee.

MESSAGE FROM THE MC2 PRESIDENT

DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS, THE MARCH LAUNCH HAS BEEN CANCELLED

If you have not heard, TRA has prohibited Prefecture launches like the NAR has done for Sections.  This effectively cancels our March launch.   Information will be forthcoming about our options for an early April launch.  Please refrain from commenting on the appropriateness of the decision.  Members have different opinions about the Associations’ decisions.  There is no sense in dividing ourselves over something that as a club we can’t control.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME to attend our 2020 High Power Launches!

When:  April 4th, 2020

Where: MC2 Winter Field

(Burman Farms), 2830 Locust Grove Road, Hopkinsville, KY.

                                                           (See map below)

Time: 9:00 am until 5:00 pm (March and April)

MC2 will hold winter High-Power Launches.  All flyers, Low through High, are welcome!   The launches will be held at our winter field at Burman Farms. The ceiling is 9400 feet AGL. This is military airspace so there will be NO exceptions to the altitude. Activities begin at 9:00 am and flights will end at 4:00pm in January and February.  March and April Launches will end at 5pm. Please
stay and help us breakdown so that the equipment will be stowed before the rapidly approaching sunset.

Our launches are open to the public. In addition to our club's members, many rocket clubs from universities throughout the Southeast and Mid-west fly with us as well! This means several

spectacular flights involving large rockets! Whether you are a flyer or a spectator, a novice, expert or a Born-Again Rocketeer, our launches are always a lot of fun!

You do not need any experience to fly with us, however only NAR or Tripoli members with proof of current certification will be allowed to fly High Power. Members fly free at club launches, all others must pay a daily launch fee of $5.00 per flyer.

Newbies, do not worry, we will give you plenty of support and will even loan you a rocket to fly!  We keep rocket assembly materials onsite.  The facility also has an indoor restroom.

We will have enough pads to cover low through high power. MC2 owns 8-foot 1010 and 1515 rails. In addition, we have pads that will hold rods from 1/8th to 1/4 inch.

Please join our Google Group as any changes of cancellations due to weather or field conditions will be announced there.

See ya' soon!
