Saturday and Sunday 21-22 June 2008 NAR Sport Launch.  14,000' waivers all day both days, with requested 20,000' from 10AM-12PM.

Our launch schedule is as follows:
 
ST2008   June 21-22  HARA/MC2
July  12th - HARA
August  2nd - MC2
September 6th  - HARA
 
My plan for 2008 is to continue the successful work done by MC2 and HARA and provide a safe, fun launch venue at the Manchester field.
 
We have many friendly, helpful people who love to fly rockets and a great launch site at which to fly. The cooperation between MC2 and HARA is second-to-none and the launches last year, including Southern Thunder 2007, were very well-organized, safe and fun.
 
As MC2 continues to grow, we will increase our activities both on and off the field. Some additions that we are planning this year include:
 
  • Club meetings to discuss club needs, upcoming launches and rocket projects
  • Club owned motor hardware loaners, especially for, (but not limited to), certification flights
  • Issuance of MC2 membership cards that can be used to check out motor hardware and recognition of membership
  • Upgrades to launch pads
  • Upgrades to launch controllers
  • Expand and Improve our NAR Model Contests
  • On site motor vendors (available last year but even better in 2008)
  • Workshop meetings to discuss rocket topics such as dual deployment, staging, stability, etc. (Suggestions welcome)
  • Additional group projects within members of the club (not club funded)
  • And, of course ST2008, our largest launch of the year which is now gaining Nationwide recognition.
As in the past, we do not collect launch fees at monthly launches except for Southern Thunder. We rely on membership dues and money from Southern Thunder to support our club launch support expenses. Club dues and Southern Thunder launch fees will be the same as last year.
Everyone is welcome to launch with us and we look forward to a safe, fun year of seeing new people, new rockets, new projects and new friendships. (Oh yeah, old ones too!)
